Several winters ago, I went to a local mountain creek to shoot patterns in the ice and found a partially submerged bouquet of flowers. Intrigued, I went back over the course of several days to see how they changed. In the photos below, you can see how individual flowers change based on the variations in daytime and nighttime temperatures. On some days, they're above the ice while on others, they're submerged. When I last saw the flowers, they had pretty much decomposed.
